First shore dive at Old Garden Beach in Rockport with the Undersea Divers Dive Society. Winter storms wiped out the sand on the beach so the walk down to the water was tricky in a 7mm suit with hood, gloves, and gear. The chilly water was refreshing at the start and resulted in frozen toes by the end. Lots of small lobster and crabs. Handful of skates and flounder as well. Stayed to the right of the rock jetty to a max of 22 ft.

Shore dive for Open Water certification. Almost killed my dive buddy Kelly Crawford when the instructor panicked - after the buddy breathing drill we separated and Kelly went to perform a reg retrieval. The instructor was new to us and wasn't prepared, so she freaked out when Kelly pulled away with no reg! Luckily we were still successful, and I passed! 2 dives, skill work, and passed certification.
