2018-03-13 Islas Caimán Grand Cayman
Lighthouse PointTrying out my brand new mask. Lots of sea life. Huge moray eel, two green(?) sea turtles, large puffer fish, small barracuda. Got to see the “Guardian of the Reef”. Very nice shore dive - entry into Divetech’s sea pool and swim out/in through the entry was a bit choppy but otherwise great dive despite the surge. Divetech staff was awesome as usual - you just can’t go wrong diving with them.

2019-12-03 Islas Caimán Grand Cayman
Spanish AnchorGreat final dive for the trip. Kim, Andy and I were totally relaxed and things went very smoothly for the first half of the dive. Lots of good smaller fish, beautiful coral and in theory an old anchor. I somehow missed the anchor while everyone else descended. Kim had a first stage malfunction with over 1200 psi left on her tank. I attempted to tighten up the tank valve but it wasn’t something fixable below. She handled it like a champ. Small bubbles, small troubles as our secondary guide Serena says. Since it was a small leak, Garth showed us the boat but we completed the dive including a safety stop. That should be a great burst of confidence for Kim. One of the better divers but the worst at riding boats I know. :)

2018-03-13 Islas Caimán Grand Cayman
Lighthouse PointHad to abort dive after successful entry and descent down to about 40’ due to a mask failure. Like complete failure. Swam back, bought a new mask from the helpful Divetech staff. I think I’ll be carrying a spare mask in my BCD pocket from now on.
