Aliwal Shoal PinnaclesDrift dive Manta to Pinnacles In - 08:50 Out - 09:29 Average depth - 16 m Visibility - 12m ->, 15 m | Bad surf conditions. Boat before us flipped on landing. Little girl injured. People lost kit. Dive itself was pleasant.

Angel CityThis double reef is suitable for Open Water divers and so it is an easy relaxed dive. The sandy patch that divides the two reef systems has a few coral bridges that span the two reefs. As most dive sites it has a wide variety of hard and soft coral, particularly large areas of gorgonian and star corals but what makes this site special is that it has a rope coral nursery, which we used as navigational beacon at the end of the dive.

Shires QuarryNight Dive. Shore entry. In - 20:15 Out - 20:49 Average depth - 10 m Visability - 1 m ->, 1 m | Interesting evening. B.J was the dive master. He kicked off my mask and regulator with his fins. First dive torch blew before entering the water. Second torch batteries went flat in the water. Saw shrimp, crabs, tallapia. Was late getting to Don's. Then BJ locked hios keys in the car. After standing in the rain fro 45 minutes we got the car open. His keys were not in the car. Found them on Don's bed!

Aliwal Shoal PinnaclesBoat Dive In - 11:00 Out - 11:38 Average depth - 12 m Visibility - 15 m ->, 18 m | Drift from Pinnacles to Raggies Cave. Saw 11 x Ragged Tooth Sharks. Almost swam into one. Surge was relatively strong (left to right). Aborted dive after 38 minutes. Don't remember much else. Was very ill. Don thought it was funny - I didn't. Flu hit me shortly afterwards.
