    2024-04-27 Egipto Sharm El Sheikh
    Temple

Last night, strong winds made it feel like a storm was brewing. We woke up to an overcast day with choppy surface conditions. Both the air and water temperatures were 25°C. The dive plan was to determine the current's direction and then follow the wall. However, we ended up at Temple, where Jeanette I spotted a giant moray eel resting in some coral off to the side. We also saw a blue-spotted ray foraging for food. This dive was amazing. Despite the rough surface, there was little to no current underwater. Visibility was slightly reduced due to the storm, but it was still an incredible dive! On the way out Jeanette spotted and showed me, what looked like a scrunchie on a rock. He took a photo and it was only when we got back home that we managed to identify it as a Hexabranchus Egg sack. The Eggs of the Spnaish Dancer.

    Kuredu House Reef

The same entry and exit as previous, this time at the bottom of the shot line was a Napoleon Wrasse. The visibility was not great on this dive with loads of sediment in the water. At first it did not seem as though we were going to see anything over and above the usual residents but then we saw 3 black tips, the first after the wreck and the last before the shot line. On our way back we spotted an Octopus who was hunting and then a guitar shark with its remora to the side.

For our final dive, we opted for a relaxed exploration, veering right out of the inlet to observe sea life and extend our underwater time. After snorkelling to the entrance of the inlet, we descended and leisurely swam from left to right along the reef. We turned back after 30 minutes and at 110 bar, marvelling at the beauty of the sandy stretches, rocky outcrops, and pinnacles on this side. Staying shallow, we enjoyed an extended dive of 62 minutes. As we passed under a liveaboard, its looming shadow cast an eerie yet mesmerizing effect on the ocean floor. Among the sights were large Yellow bar Angelfish. This dive concluded our holiday perfectly—relaxed and filled with diverse marine life.
